A foal with Joint Ill had been lame for 3 days with an extremely swollen hock and a 104.5 temp. I recommended hospitalization, but client couldn't afford. I recommended penicillin injections daily and TF, 3caps 3X day. Foal received only 2 injections of penicillin but a full course of TF. 48 hours later, client reported remarkably quick recovery with normal temp, appetite and no apparent lameness.
